Sinclair C5 1/10 Scale Model

Posted: Dec 06, 2014

Here is the first model of a Sinclair C5 created with a Makerbot 3D printer. It is roughly 1/10 in scale to a real C5 and is composed of 17 different parts created on the printer and then clipped or glued together to create the final model.

The main C5 features are included, namely the distinctive shape of the white body, the gray inner part, the handlebar, POD, pedals, wheel covers, and front and back lights.

There are stickers on the front (next to the light) and yellow strips on each side. Note: The rear wheel covers are plain white; the yellow stickers would be too small to put on them.

This model was created on a Makerbot Replicator 2 3D printer.

Sir,

Could You let me know if You can supply this model in 1:43 Scale. I am the biggest 1:43 Miniature Collector with over 8.000 and a Sinclair C5 is missing in my Collection.

Best regards

Can I buy these from anywhere?

Hi Dan,

that's a great looking model!
I am a teacher at York College and we are doing a project to redesign aspects of the C5, but we are struggling to get any accurate dimensions and drawings to be able to recreate it in CAD.
would you be willing to share your info to help us along?

Kind regards,

Mike Hume

Excellent work! Can a link be made available or a download of these files so others can make their own. I am thinking Scalextric :-) Or will I have to do my own from scratch? Many thanks.

Hi Dan,

Thanks,
Markus
