Converting Vector Files to 3D Models

Our vector conversion tools are also able to convert vector files into full 3D models using an extrusion process whereby vector elements are mapped from the vector file into 3D space and are given a height value based on their brightness. Here we have an example of this. The first vector file is a plain two-dimensional SVG file containing a retro video game character that is extruded using our tool to create a 3D STL model.

The size of your Vector file will affect processing times, so please allow for this. For smaller files of around 5MB, our tools will aim to have it completed within a few seconds.

How is my Vector file converted, whats involved?

When you upload your file to our site, we use a set of bespoke conversion components to, as accurately as possible, convert your file to the requested format. When the conversion is complete you will see a download link with which to retrieve your converted file.
